THE HOTEL It is impossible to think of the historical center of Paraty without mentioning Pousada do Sandi, or Sandi's Lodge. Located in one of the most important historical building sites in Paraty, Pousada do Sandi is a reference in town as is the beauty of the natural environment and the "cachaça" distilled from sugar cane. Known worldwide for its rich colonial architecture, Paraty's historical center is remarkable. The building that shelters Pousada do Sandi is a city picture postcard, which hosted in the past an elementary school named Grupo Escolar Raul Pompéia, and after that a social and cultural club, Associação Cultural e Recreativa Paratiense. The building features architecture and ornaments from the colonial time of Brazil: history, culture, arts, restaurants and much more. And Pousada do Sandi is right in the middle of all this.
